David & Mara Pickering

God brought David and Mara to NMSI, and at the same time to each other. David and Mara met while serving together at the CGO in Fort Myers, Florida, and were married in July 2005. Their daughter, Abigail, was born in 2008 and their son, Caleb, was born in November 2009.

David majored in Agri-Business at Kansas State University. He worked in the tomato industry in Florida for four years, but then felt the call to serve at NMSI. He met NMSI through contacts at his local church. Mara majored in Inter-Cultural Studies at Hope International University in California. She was introduced to NMSI through her university, and participated in an internship to Bulgaria in 2003.

David and Mara began serving on their first 3-year term in 2008. They are involved in church planting, community development and reconciliation projects for minority groups.
