Lowell & Blanche Hunefeld
Lowell and Blanche joined NMSI in 2003 after 17 years as missionaries in Southeastern Brazil ministering in church planting and leadership development. While in Brazil, Blanche worked with women’s ministries and intercessory prayer ministries.
By 2003, working in partnership with national leaders, a mother church was planted in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo. This church (currently with 600+ meeting in its own worship and training facility and numerous home groups throughout the city) has planted a daughter church in Ribeirão Preto, sent their first missionary to East Timor in 2005, another to Boliva in 2009, and continues to work closely with NMSI to develop sustainable and reproducible strategies to reach the world 2.7 billion unreached peoples.
Lowell serves with NMSI as Vice President of International Operations, providing guidance and general oversight for NMSI ministries and affiliates in cross-cultural contexts. In addition, Lowell continues to seek to facilitate creative strategies and partnerships in the areas of community development, micro-business, church planting, etc. between churches in the U.S. and around the world that contribute to life and community transformation, and to the establishment of Jesus following communities (Churches).
Since joining NMSI, Blanche worked to formulate the Member Care Department. Blanche currently ministers in the Spiritual Formation Department, mentoring and counseling NMSI affiliates. In addition, Blanche travels extensively teaching women and womens groups, and coaching those serving in cross-cultural contexts globally.
