Angie Baird

Angie Baird is a 2003 graduate of Lincoln Christian College and a 2008 graduate of Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University. During different mission trips throughout high school and college, her heart began to ache for the needs of people around the world.

After a summer internship to Kenya with New Mission Systems International in 2004, she decided to return to school to pursue a nursing degree with the goal of working overseas and showing the love of Christ through ministering to individuals’ physical needs. She has decided to join with New Mission Systems International after completing the COAT training program.

She will be partnering with AfricaHope Kenya to work with the health development division by providing nursing care at a community clinic along with teaching health education to decrease and prevent the spread of disease. Her goal is to eventually work in mobile clinics to reach individuals in surrounding villages that do not have access to medical care. In conjunction with her nursing work, she will be developing an herbal medicinal garden to broaden her resources for providing medical aid.

Angie is passionate about developing relationships with Kenyans and providing care for their physical needs, which will allow them the freedom to grow both emotionally and spiritually.
