Christian Sports Camp ministry with excellence
Shawn has dual Mexican/American citizenships. He was raised in Mexico City, Mexico as a missionary kid from the time he was six months old. While in Mexico, at the age of 17 (1995), Shawn recommitted his life to Christ, and God called him to full-time Christian ministry. He attended Manhattan Christian College (Manhattan, KS) praying for a specific ministry of service. In the summer of 2000, while serving at KAA/Kanakuk, a mega Christian sports camp ministry in the Midwest, Shawn felt God giving him a specific and clear calling to take this type of excellence in camping ministry to Mexico. God has provided training for this ministry in Mexico through various camping and leadership opportunities, as well as receiving an M.A. in Youth and Family Ministries from John Brown University and the Kanakuk Institute.
Susan was raised in a military family, which encompassed moving to different locations within the USA and also including some locations overseas. Susan met Shawn at MCC from which they both graduated in 2002, with bachelor degrees in Bible and Family Ministries, and were married that summer. Susan has a passion for counseling women and girls who are hurting, as well as a desire to equip families for successful and fulfilling lives.
Shawn and Susan, along with their children, Isabel (5/28/2003), Kaleb (3/17/2006), and Isaac (8/11/2008) affiliated with NMSI in the fall of 2007, and are following the calling God has given them for the country of Mexico.
